3. How We Use Information
We use information to respond to inquiries; provide authorized advisory and technology services; manage accounts and client workflows; maintain parts and classification-related data; administer agreements, invoicing, and payments; support authorized integrations; troubleshoot and secure our systems; comply with applicable law and recordkeeping duties; and protect our legal rights.
We do not sell confidential client trade information as a commercial data product.
4. Client Information and Confidentiality
Client-provided commercial information is used to carry out authorized services and related administration. An executed Master Services Agreement, Statement of Work, or other client agreement may impose additional confidentiality and information-handling obligations. Those obligations apply according to that agreement.
Clients should provide only information they are authorized to share.
5. AI and Technology-Assisted Processing
Borderlean may use automation, analytics, and artificial intelligence-assisted tools for authorized research, data organization, analysis, and workflow support. The use of confidential client information in third-party systems is subject to applicable client agreements, authorization requirements, and provider restrictions.
We do not treat access to confidential client information as unrestricted permission to disclose it to AI providers. Information obtained through Google APIs will not be used or transferred for purposes prohibited by applicable Google API policies, including relevant Limited Use requirements.
6. Third-Party Integrations and Government Data Sources
Borderlean may use Intuit QuickBooks to manage Borderlean’s own invoices and payment status. Clients do not need to connect their own QuickBooks accounts to pay Borderlean invoices.
Planned or authorized integrations may include Google for communications or related workflows and DocuSign for electronic signatures and agreement administration. When such integrations are enabled, information may be processed as needed to provide the authorized functionality, subject to applicable permissions and provider terms.
Information obtained through Google APIs will be handled in accordance with applicable Google API Services User Data Policy requirements, including Limited Use requirements. The particular Google data accessed, retained, and shared will depend on the features and scopes actually enabled and will be described more specifically before those features are activated.
Borderlean may consult publicly available government data, including U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) tariff information. Accessing public USITC information does not, by itself, mean client data is disclosed to the agency.
7. How We Share Information
We may share information with vendors providing hosting, security, communications, electronic signature, accounting, payment, and related services; authorized client personnel; professional advisers; government or legal authorities when required or permitted by law; and parties involved in a legitimate business transaction, subject to applicable protections.
We do not share confidential client information with unrelated parties for their independent marketing purposes without appropriate authorization.
8. Data Security
We seek to maintain administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information and services involved. No internet-based system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Security practices will be reviewed as client-facing features are implemented.
9. Data Retention
We retain information as reasonably necessary for authorized services, business administration, legal and regulatory obligations, dispute resolution, and enforcement of agreements. Retention periods depend on the nature of the information and applicable requirements. When no longer needed, information may be deleted, anonymized, or otherwise disposed of as appropriate.
10. Cookies and Website Technologies
Our website or portal may use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, security, sessions, and preferences. Additional analytics or other tools, if introduced, will be addressed through appropriate disclosures and choices where required. Browser settings may allow you to restrict cookies, although doing so may affect functionality.
11. Your Privacy Rights
